Akira Toriyama Passed Away At 68, Creator of the Dragon Ball Series

Akira Toriyama, the creator of the famous Japanese comic “Dragon Ball” died at the age of 68.

“We are deeply saddened to inform you that Manga creator Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1st due to acute subdural hematoma,” a statement posted on the official X(Formerly Twitter) account of the “Dragon Ball” franchise.

“Dear Friends and Partners, We are deeply saddened to inform you that manga creator Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1st due to acute subdural hematoma. He was at the age of 68,”

“It’s our deep regret that he still had several works in the middle of creation with great enthusiasm,” Toriyama’s Bird Studio said. The funeral service was attended by his close family members. The dates of the official farewell are not announced yet.

“Dragon Balls” is one of the most popular manga series in Japan, which first appeared in 1984. It featured a boy named Son Goku who increases his powers by collecting magical balls containing dragon.

This news has saddened all manga series and anime-lover fans globally. His fans took to X and mourned his demise. “Rest in Peace Akira Toriyama, you’ll forever be missed,” a fan wrote. “You were a legend. Thank you and Rest in peace ❤️,”…..still continues.

Akira Toriyama, a famous Japanese manager artist was born on 5 April 1995 in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan. He received tremendous love from his fans for creating his highly successful manga series “Dragon Ball”. Akira Toriyama was not creating designs for the latest manga series Dragon Balls Super, but his manga series is famous manga fans with his name. “To think I’ll never see him again… I’m overwhelmed by sadness,” Oda said, creator of the Japan Manga Franchise.
